A Forgotten Hide - The Gold Chèvre Document Holder
Share
Back in 2021 I ordered this French Goatskin.
I didn't really do much with it.
Other than cut up enough for a bifold to experiment with thicknesses and splitting.

Then late last year I decided to make a zipper case for a work laptop.
I couldn't stand the synthetic one I was given.
After making that out of a Brown Charles F Stead Suede, I thought to make a document case out of this Chevre considering it wasn't doing anything and I should probably use up my reserves of leather.
Good Decision.

I had fortunately bought some Pig Suede from Walter Reignald in a Tan colour, so this was a perfect pairing!

Small card pocket for Business Cards. Main compartment for Documents.
Delicious.

Saddle Stitching Detail, I do love a contrasting thread.

I unfortunately didn't document (pardon the pun) most of the making process.
Rest assured, a lot of time went into making this and it will probably look great after 20 years of wear (pending repairs).

This can be made in other leathers, so if you did want one for your papers or laptop; do get in touch.
